Have you lost a teddy?
Have you ever wondered if name stickers actually work? Would an item be returned to you? To test this, we distributed 500 teddies around the UK, in 25 different cities. In each city, we placed a teddy on a park bench, in a café, in front of a church and 17 more places. Each teddy had a unique name on a name label, and a phone number. Would people call us to say they had found a teddy?
For more than 50% of the teddies, people called us within 24 hours. In York, more than 75% of teddies were picked up. Teddies left in cafés and coffee shops had the best chance of being returned - 85% made it back to us. Women were more likely to make the call than men, and those aged between 21 and 30 were the most likely age group to help. We were delighted to see that putting name labels on your children's clothing and items really does work.
