We have been awarded a Queen’s Award for Outstanding Achievement in International Trade!

My Nametags was launched by our founder and CEO Lars B. Andersen in his spare room 14 years ago. We now distribute to 127 countries worldwide and have been awarded the accolade in recognition of our significant growth in overseas markets. Across the globe The Queen’s Award is recognised as a reward for excellent business performance. It is also indicative of a quality standard of customer service as well as treatment of staff. International trade now makes up more than a third of My Nametags’ total sales.

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, which have been operating since 1966, are awarded to businesses for outstanding achievement in four categories: International Trade, Innovation, Sustainable Development and Promoting Opportunity. My Nametags will join the other award winners at a Royal reception at Buckingham Palace hosted by HRH The Prince of Wales, before the award is officially presented to us by a Lord-Lieutenant at our Wandsworth office.

Commenting on our success in The Queen’s Awards, Lars said: “It is an incredibly exciting time for My Nametags as the company continues to grow quickly. This year has already seen us launch in several new international markets, as well as a move to a much larger office to keep up with growing demand. We are thrilled to have our success recognised by an award as prestigious as The Queen’s Award.”

This international success is largely down to Lars’ understanding of foreign markets and languages. Lars speaks seven languages and believes that this has played a part in allowing My Nametags to grow faster than other SMEs. Within twelve months of establishing the business, My Nametags was exporting to several countries and at one time had more foreign bank accounts than employees!

Lesley Batchelor (OBE), Director General IOE International Trade and part of The Queen’s Award judging panel, said: “My congratulations go out to My Nametags. The Queen’s Award is the highest accolade a business can win from the Institute of Export & International Trade. This is an award like no other and winning it brings both recognition for the team and for the company worldwide.”

The award is valid for five years and will give us the right to use The Queen’s Award logo and fly the Queen’s Award flag at our main office in Wandsworth.
